Scott Templeton
Scott Templeton, with a notable25-year career in personal injury and business litigation, emphasizes the crucial role of advanced storytelling in the courtroom. He advocates for a deep understanding of the story's elements and dynamics, emphasizing the need for a lawyer's intention, self-awareness, and charisma to effectively communicate with and persuade a jury.
Templeton, with colleague and APT USA cofounder Judson Webb, was inspired by the concept of implementing applied theater techniques such as the Viewpoints in trial practice. These techniques and trainings equip trial lawyers with the skills to integrate performance elements such as space, time, movement, and shape into their courtroom presentations. This innovative approach not only enhances courtroom performance, but also fosters a more insightful, confident, and authentic presence in the trial lawyer that resonates with juries.
By mastering these techniques, lawyers learn to express their personal charisma, gain profound self-knowledge, and harness the confidence necessary for impactful court room presentations. Templeton firmly believes that this unique method transforms trial lawyers into more persuasive and compelling storytellers, significantly improving their courtroom effectiveness.
